The title of this entry is in opposition with this photo of me that Allan took back in 2005.
I seem to have lost that t-shirt in transition, and I mean that in every sense of the word.
Tonight I posted a link on Facebook, and I included a lot of commentary, and then in a comment to my own commentary, I wrote "Also, bla bla bla. I should really turn half of my statuses on Facebook into blog entries."
And I really should.
It's no secret that Facebook and Twitter took away from my blogging. My move from France back the US took away from my blogging, and it took away some of my readers, as well.
I need to decide what I'm willing to put here. And if that turns out to be "nothing," I need to shut this blog down.
Typepad has been great, but if I'm not using the service, why continue paying?
And now I'm going to do something I never thought I'd do. If you are reading this, if you read my blog, even if you never comment, please comment now. I'd like to know what the stats can't tell me. You don't even have to say anything if you don't want to. Just leave a * or some other symbol. I just want to know how many people are really reading me.
Thanks in advance.

Why shut yourself down, anywhere? I still have this feed and I cherish it. It's how we stay apprised, my friend. I love you.

I read you. I think you are a great person and a wonderful writer! However, I understand how FB and other social media sites can take away from blogging and suck away our time. I am backing away from FB a little and going to refocus on my writing whether it is on my blog or a piece of paper.

I don't care where you post, just keep doing it and I'll read it.

We read you clear and loud here. Social networking shifts format, just like CD mostly replaced vinyles. What matters is the content, not the appearance.

Still here, though not really blogging myself these days. My children are getting older (HS and MS) and require more of my attention that is not spent on grading the work I assign my non-physical kids. Take care, Ali, whatever you decide!

I just spent about a half hour checking out your blog for the first time. I enjoyed all that I read. I'll be checking it out as long as it's up.

You've been a constant in my feed since you're very first AOL blog (okay, maybe not THAT long because I don't think you had a feed or I used a feed reader back then - that was when I had all the blogs I read in a folder that I flipped through manually fifty times a day. Oh, those were the days). I'd hate to see you go :(

I know your posts have dwindled, so my visits have dwindled, too.
I still come back to look.
Instead of paying typepad, maybe you should switch over to free sevice?
Worpress? Blogger?

Tonight, I was feeling weary of hanging out on Facebook and Twitter -- a feeling that I duly posted on Facebook and Twitter.
I decided to go back to Google Reader and check out what was happening on a few blogs. And I went straight to this post, which represents "my feelings exactly" about my blogs, which are inactive for the moment.
I'm trying to start a teaching blog, but the domain is so daunting that it is hard to feel confident there.
In fact, I was just thinking about starting some "totally different" blog on Blogger when I ran into your post...
IDK...stop paying for Typepad, maybe? Or just keep it open for when you feel like it?

I don't read any blogs regularly, but I read here as much as anywhere else. I check in a few spots. Does that make sense? lol
Do what feels right for you, right now and don't worry about the rest of it.

I stop by and read from time to time! I was really interested in your move back to the US. We consider it now and then...
