Thanks to all who commented on my previous post. The feedback was great, and I think it's important to note that buried power lines do not mean you're safe from outages.
Granted, I'm taking your comments at face value and have done zero research myself. Heh.
In a departure from the norm, I'm also not responding personally to each comment to the last post. My apologies, but I don't feel like eighteen (okay, seven) different conversations on the same subject is helpful. I do thank you for taking the time to comment, and I appreciate your points of view.
Next post will be a little more lighthearted, promise.

although, I am all for burying the lines to make the world prettier!!!

I somehow missed the last post. I'm late to the power party! We have buried lines and hardly ever lose power, a great disappointment to my husband (Mountain Man) who wants to use his generator and fabulous coping skills. Me, I would rather sit in the warm house all powered up.

If we all lived off the grid, this discussion would be moot. Solar panels on the roof, a turbine in the backyard, and geothermal pipes reaching deep below the house. I have seen the future, and it is independent.
Too bad we're still hooked on conventional energy thinking.
