Some French supermarkets used to put up signs to explain that their oils were separated because it was cold and were perfectly good to buy. But I think all of the supermarkets are overheated (or air-conditioned) now!

Margaret

Yes is the answer to that!

Denise

While I'm all for natural, organically produced food, I just can't go there with peanut butter. I like it creamy, salty and full of fat...and I will *only* buy JIF.

Then again, I'm the one who, with my older son, ate a bunch of Halloween Peeps dipped in melted chocolate and JIF for dessert last night. Mmmmmm. Fatty goodness.

Allan

What JIF and Skippy have going for them is the tons of sugar that are added to them for flavor.

I used to eat JIF, but have come to love natural PB.

Beanie

You are asking this question of a society populated by people who believe, deep down, that chickens are born naked and wrapped in plastic? That artichokes are about the size of a walnut and are tender and tasty right out of the ground, and that shrimp do not heave heads?

Of course we believe that peanut butter is natually homogeneous!

It is, isn't it? ;)

Carrie

I always found that off putting. I know natural is better for us, but that's just gross.

jeorg

after reading denise's comment, i am ready to propose marriage to that woman, run off with her and have her babies... because that is how seriously i take peanut butter. there is only jif. there is nothing else. and i will tolerate no other kind of peanut butter.

stirring peanut butter, pft.

Karan

I like the warning labels that say peel the wrapper off or don't eat the plastic wrap. I think it all comes about because of litigation or the fear of it.

anica

LOL!

Audra

O.K. jerog can marry Denise and I will be an adopted 37 yr. old child, whatever...But PEEPS in melted chocolate and JIF, I am so there, that ROCKS! Have you had the JIF with Honey already blended in? YUMMY! We are all going to die someday as for me, I say bring on the fully processed, sugar loaded, full fat PB!

The CEO

There's nuts in peanut butter? I thought they were just my clients.

Denise

Jeorg and Audra, I'm so glad I've found fellow JIF snobs and chocoholics. ;-) My real-life friends thought that dessert was gross! It shows what a sugar fanatic I am, though, that I wasn't up all night from it.

Beanie

Denise, how did you get the peanut butter to stick to the melted chocolate?

Because I would think it'd be like nailing peanut butter to jelly that's nailed to a tree.

winter

I bought some natural macadamia nut butter once, just to try it. And it was so very hard to spread, even after stirring the oils back in, that I ended up tossing it.
