What a great shot.

Mike and I attend the pride festival in Philly every fall with our friends. We always have such a great time.

I wonder how Seattle rates. It sounds like a great time for all.

Our itty bitty city has one of the oldest Pride festivals in VA. The mayor speaks and it's held in the city square. Quite progressive for being in a red state! Although we have no drag show - yet.

That's a great photo! You can imagine the size of the DC Gay Pride Festival. I'm glad you're still at it, it takes the pressure off of me to write. Hug Allan for me, on general principals.

Hey, wait a damn minute! At least 4 years ago, maybe five, Lexington was named the most gay friendly city in the country...and now we're just in the top ten? WTF happened?

I was gonna go and I forgot.

I knew I missed out when I looked at your's and Allan's flickr pages yesterday.

Dammit.

We live just a few miles from New Hope PA. And we have the opportunity for similar pictures annually.

Laura and I missed PrideFest here in St. Louis this weekend. We were traveling. My friends tell me it was a great time.

Wow, how cool! I just stumbled upon your blog through Choc & Zucchini. I used to live in Lexington and now live in Paris! It is nice to get the FYI on Lexy and sounds like the gay festival would have been fun. Thanks for the update!

I'm really surprised that Lex has not had an outdoor drag show before now, since drag shows have been part of the down town scene for decades. 20 years ago I had the honor of judging the "Miss Gay Lexington" pageant at what was then known as 'Great Moments'. I am absolutely sickened by what's happening down town. I just don't understand how they can destroy our heritage when there are a plethora of blighted sights that actually NEED intervention. I keep veering between grief and rage and relief that I don't have to deal with it every day...My condolences to downtown and everyone who loves/loved it.
