I have sent the daily rushes to the Academy, and only time will tell, but I think it has potential!

Your post! Ooooh la la!
Shit. I did it again, didn't I?
Posted by:Tiffany | May 12, 2008 at 20:02
Ohhhh la la!!!! Is that an appropriate reaction to the observation that Alison is, quite possibly, beginning to sound, ever so slightly, like a Kentuckian? (Is that even what they call folks from Kentucky?)
It's ever, ever so slight, but what can I say? I'm a linguist and I pride myself on hearing things in people's speech that others don't notice. ;-)

Yay! A French lesson! I will never say "Oh la la" again! At least not in a good way.
P.S. You look great!
Posted by:AndreAnna | May 12, 2008 at 20:24
Bravo. It wasn't that complicated. You made it right and with no accent (in French). Nice job ! P.. c'était bien !

Super! It's hard to explain some nuances of language and culture. You did very well. So many Americans LOVE to stereotype the French, and it gets tiresome and ridiculous.

You're pretty!
And you have a lovely voice!

Alison...you are just too ADORABLE!!

GREAT VIDEO!!!! And you do have a great voice and video presence ;-)
And I really, really liked the shir...
See what I did there???
;-)

Aw, you did a good job. Plus, you are just too adorable. I like your video posts.
I think you need to do weekly French lessons like this. Kind of like the "Street French" books. Teach us what the school books don't.
Because I'm sure you're not busy with other things right now or anything...

Do you speak Spanish, too?
Posted by:Scott Beveridge | May 12, 2008 at 23:41
Ah dimples! Oooh lalalalala
Posted by:Karan | May 13, 2008 at 00:48
Hot damn, this was excellent! I guess I'm one of those French folks who uses "fait chier, putain de merde" way more frequently than "oh la la." Congrats on a video that was very well done!

Wow Alison you'd put a French sailor to shame. I'm impressed!
Posted by:misschris | May 13, 2008 at 11:47
We were just happy to see those dimples again. ;)
So basically, you're saying that "ooh la la" functions much the way "oy vey" does, right?
Posted by:newwavegurly | May 13, 2008 at 12:45
You looked marvelou..
Posted by:ɹǝƃƃolquǝʞoʇ | May 14, 2008 at 11:02
yep. it's settled. your speaking voice is just as i'd expected!!! and is as beautiful as you.
no surprise, that. good or bad. so no olalalalalalala for you. ;)

Hi Alison! That was a great, well-paced and sweet little video. Now, you've enticed your audience - bring more of it on! (I'd love to track weekly French lessons.)
Best regards from Norway

That made me chortle.

I am glad you're back to videos! It's nice to hear your voice again.

Bravo! err...or whatever :)
That was really well done! I always admire properly enunciated french, especially the France version, as opposed to the french-canadian version.
Love the videos and it's nice to see you back :)

About 220 expressions passed over your face during that short piece. I loved it! Nice job.

Superb(e)

Great video, you got it right about the oh la la and the the other more commonly used words, too :)
Posted by:poppy fields | May 17, 2008 at 11:46
Merveilleux. Love the little spew of words at the end.
