Well. It's over. Here's the rundown:
- I went 15 days in a row, then I took my "free" day.
- I wrote about being in between classes 18 and 19, then I took 5 days off.
- Yes, I said FIVE.
- I was VERY SORE and tired.
- I started back up, and thought about doubling up on classes in order to complete the challenge.
- That thought lasted about two hours.
- I took last Thursday and Friday off, but went on Saturday, the last day of the challenge.
- Here's a summary of what bikram yoga is, in case you've forgotten.
How do I feel? Sore and tired. Proud of myself for attending 22 classes in 30 days, but a little disappointed that I didn't complete the challenge. But I couldn't bear the thought of really hurting myself by pulling a muscle or injuring a joint, so I took the time off.
Have I lost any weight? A little, but I also gave myself license to be "bad" by using the yoga as my juicy rationalization of the day/week/month.
Will I go back? Most definitely. I plan to sign up for a 3-month unlimited pass, then go from there. During my last session, I made breakthroughs on some of the asana. I can't even explain how good that felt, both mentally and physically.
I have to take some photos today, so I can see the Before and After. First I have to dig up the same clothes I was wearing in the Before photos. I'm willing to share these with you, but only if you're a woman whom I trust. Sorry, guys! Sorry, random readers! Let me know if you'd like to see what 22 sessions of bikram yoga will do to a body.

Hell yeah, I wanna see it!
And it was great seeing you guys yesterday!

22 classes in 30 days is still pretty damn good! I know I'm impressed.

Well, I think it took a huge amount of perserverance and plain old-fashioned sweat to get through 22 sessions in 30 days. It's definitely an awesome start to a great habit.
It's reassuring to know you used the exercise to excuse yourself too. I have been less than perfect on the food plan--but I still feel good!
As for the before and after photos, I would love to see them--though I'm more interested in just being counted as a woman you trust. Give me credit for that, and I'll be happy.

please encourage me with photos. I've been rather slug-like lately, and I could use a kick in the butt (or the biceps.)

Yes, I would love that! I need to get inspired to go back to yoga.

I'd love to see them, if you want to send them. You don't know me, but I'm a middle-aged mom (grown kids), not a stalker.
I practiced yoga for years but haven't much for the past few years. I just started up aagain a couple weeks ago. My daughters took some Bikram yoga and loved it.

I'd love to see. I have a 28 day yoga book that I love and have wanted to start again. I felt so good when I did it the last time. I'm glad you're finding it to be so wonderful.

congrats! i mean the heat alone is challenge enough!
during those sore and tired days, you might have been able to just attend class and lay there in savasana the whole time. heehee! they say it's the most difficult asana...
pictures? yes, why not?
i'm looking for a yoga class here i davao. i'm having trouble finding one. boohoohoo...

I want to see! I need motivation to get back into the Bikram mode!
Posted by: Seuss | March 24, 2008 at 17:30
Bikram yoga is tough in all that heat. Good for you for going 22 out of 30 days. That's A LOT!
Posted by: Stephanie Quilao | March 25, 2008 at 06:58
ok, I totally want to see!
