Whazzat?
Allan and I just got back from our first class. I can't speak for him, but I am ready for bed. It was really hard, and we sat out for a number of the asanas. I did fairly well at the ones I knew from my yoga class four years ago, but the rest? Heh. And ouch. And yow. And jeebus.
But sometimes an ass-kicking is a good thing. I can't wait to go back tomorrow.

I'm proud of myself for going 90 minutes without throwing up.

Never tried Bikram. Something about being in a 90+ degree room full of sweaty people never appealed to me.

It's supposed to be wonderful, but just regular yoga kicked my ass. I am not as flexible as I thought I was, and it was just plain HARD. I wanted to relax!!

I've been intrigued by Bikram yoga. Is it like being in a sauna? Or, is it more like a room full of sweaty people.

maybe my yoga is different. i'm in a beginner class. and it was tonight - my 2nd class. and no one else showed except the instructor. i loved it...but i didn't get the "kicked ass" feeling. maybe next time?
maybe it isn't bikram...

You're going back TOMORROW? Me? I would barely make it out of bed, I think.
My gym doesn't offer Bikram. Yeah, that's why I don't do it! Otherwise, you know...I'd be all over that.

I prefer my yoga at room temperature, thanks. I'd puke at Bikram.

I have this fantasy where I have time to do Yoga, play ball, see movies and all that other stuff I'd like to do.
Problem is that reality keeps kicking my butt.

Ali-
Reading your blog has brought smiles and a bunch of giggles. I just found it and it has definitely brought me back to Main St. Meadville. Without waxing on and on, give me a shout on email- [edited by Ali]
I'd love to catch up!

Oh! I love Bikram yoga. Well, ok. I don't love Bikram yoga, but I love how it makes me feel! I spent a year going 5 times a week and would still be going if it was closer. The closest studio is about 40 minutes away. 40 minutes there. 90 minutes of hell. 15 minutes to clean up. 40 minutes home. Too much.
But, go again. It will get easier! I promise.

You're awesome!
Now I'm curious about Allan's comment at the top: He said he was proud that he went 90 minutes without throwing up. Now, does that mean that he actually did throw up AFTER 90 minutes? I mean, even so, that's pretty good, considering the ass-whooping you guys took.
Have fun today!

Oh lordy. I used to do that in Philly. The only thing worse than being in a very hot room with a bunch of very hot bodies, is when a few of them are hungover grad students. Don't you judge me.
