I need a root canal, have had the numbers of three excellent endodontists in town since Monday, but have I called any of them?
Nope. Bok bok bok bokaw!
In the meantime, I've been filling my days as I usually do. Today there was a twist, however. And that's all I'm going to say about that. And oh, cheezus, get your mind out of the gutter.
Unfortunately I haven't had any memorable, bloggable moments lately, unless you count the interminable wait at the post office yesterday. There were about seven or eight people in front of me, and two employees. And then one of the employees just up and pissed off to somewhere. By that time there were about five more people behind me. Ten minutes later, the employee came back. And I was thinking, WTF?
And then this afternoon, while at my friend A's house, I sifted lavender sugar. She was making lavender heart cookies, and had cured lavender in sugar (Duh! -ed.). And the bigger chunks of herb needed to be sifted out of the sugar. Let me tell you, sifting enough sugar to get 2/3 cup (150g) through a tiny sieve is, um, time consuming. But I love A, so I did it gladly. Well, on the condition that I get some of the lavender hearts, of course.
So that's pretty much it. I still haven't finished the steps, but the risers are about ready to be painted. Yeah, I know. A three-, maybe four-day project, and I haven't finished it. Pulling out thousands of staples — I exaggerate not — put me off the project for a while. And it's not too urgent. The kids aren't here to go upstairs; that's where their bedrooms are. And so I've been dicking around, getting massages and being contemplative. September was not as productive a month as I meant it to be. But that's okay.
October is here. The end of the month promises to be exciting. The beginning, as well.

Productivity is for suckers, I've decided. So is dental work.
I wouldn't have one for fun, but I never thought root canals were that bad. Usually the pain that made them necessary is bad enough that I'm grateful for the relief. The bill is what really stings.

I have 4--count them, 4--root canals on the agenda, two in teeth that have already had root canals. Ask me how thrilled I am about this. Go ahead, put on asbestos ear protection and ask me.

So what IS all this exciting stuff??

Hey, I'll join you in the root canal parade. Mine's under a massive 5-tooth bridge. Won't this be fun? It'll be my fourth.

I think I might know what all the excitement is about! And I can't wait for you to announce it to the world.
Ok, sorry for the shameless know-it-all bragging....I just want some Alithinks action! Plus, I know things are not nearly as mundane as you're leading us all to believe.....(:

So, if the beginning of the month and the end of the month is promising - the middle plans to be sucky?

Well, I'm guessing you'll have some good blogging fodder post-root canal. Yish.

I'm hoping to hear the fun news next; this talk of root canals is depressing...

I swear, no one else could possibly discuss lavender sugar, painting risers after pulling staples, lack of productivity, taking your mind from the gutter, and root canal; all in the same post. Who needs porn?
