I need a root canal, have had the numbers of three excellent endodontists in town since Monday, but have I called any of them?
Nope. Bok bok bok bokaw!
In the meantime, I've been filling my days as I usually do. Today there was a twist, however. And that's all I'm going to say about that. And oh, cheezus, get your mind out of the gutter.
Unfortunately I haven't had any memorable, bloggable moments lately, unless you count the interminable wait at the post office yesterday. There were about seven or eight people in front of me, and two employees. And then one of the employees just up and pissed off to somewhere. By that time there were about five more people behind me. Ten minutes later, the employee came back. And I was thinking, WTF?
And then this afternoon, while at my friend A's house, I sifted lavender sugar. She was making lavender heart cookies, and had cured lavender in sugar (Duh! -ed.). And the bigger chunks of herb needed to be sifted out of the sugar. Let me tell you, sifting enough sugar to get 2/3 cup (150g) through a tiny sieve is, um, time consuming. But I love A, so I did it gladly. Well, on the condition that I get some of the lavender hearts, of course.
So that's pretty much it. I still haven't finished the steps, but the risers are about ready to be painted. Yeah, I know. A three-, maybe four-day project, and I haven't finished it. Pulling out thousands of staples — I exaggerate not — put me off the project for a while. And it's not too urgent. The kids aren't here to go upstairs; that's where their bedrooms are. And so I've been dicking around, getting massages and being contemplative. September was not as productive a month as I meant it to be. But that's okay.
October is here. The end of the month promises to be exciting. The beginning, as well.
