...cooked on a grill. They were smoky, a bit chewy, and delicious.
I know I can get mussels in Lexington, but these were "picked" yesterday morning, a few hours before I got to eat them. It's good to be on vacation.

I only first tried mussels a few years ago, and maybe I had a bad batch, but it tasted like licking a boat. Have yet to try them again, though I would, as I am a total and utter foodie.

I am not a seafood fan, although I do enjoy halibut and salmon.

Wow - I love mussels, but have ever had them cooked on the grill. Need to find a recipe for that!

I love mussels, and had some last week. Great minds think so much alike.

Are you at the beach?
Being from Lille, in northern France, I know for sure that mussels and French fries is one of the best treats ever. I have never tried cooking mussels on the grill, but will look up ways of doing this, sounds like fun.

I can't eat shrimp, and I need to be in the right mood for lobster or crab. I don't really like shellfish all that much, mostly because of the texture. Mussels and oysters are usually soft enough that I don't mind them so much, so grilled mussels sounds like something I'd at least try. . .
I would definitely like to try a vacation, though. Haven't been on one of those in three years. Maybe President Bush will lend us a couple of his vacation days, ya think?

Never had mussels. Grilled sounds interesting, though. I might have to try that.
Enjoy your time away!

Where we live, months that don't end in 'y' you may pick all the mussels you want. We are not that brave. They are everywhere. Have you tried abalone? We just got some!
Where'd ga-go?

Bomb a bunch of mussels in a billy, add a splash of water and a healthy splash of dry white vino. Close lid, onto the fire, steam away and nosh 'em with freshly made potbread and Tabasco. Oh, and the rest of the vino.
Best way to watch the sun fall into the sea...
