This weekend Allan's oldest friend and his wife came to visit. R. and B. (hehe, R&B) arrived Friday morning and left at the crack this morning. It was great to see them again (I met them at Christmastime). We ate well and laughed a lot.
So here it is, late Sunday morning, and the coffee is delicious. I had a whole bunch of fun things to say, but I've forgotten them all, as you do when you don't write stuff down immediately. I either need to find my moleskine, or open Typepad as soon as a thought enters my brain.
The weather has been crappy for the past, oh, TEN DAYS, so maybe that's sucking the life out of me. Friday was nice, and we spent the afternoon at Keeneland, but it was chilly in the shade. I need warmth and sunshine.
I don't mean to complain. My doctor recommended melatonin for the insomnia, and that seems to be helping. As for the rest, I am under extreme stress right now, but I just don't feel I can put the issue I'm dealing with out there for the internets. Yet. Suffice it to say, I can't get my mind off it.
That's the news from this corner of the world. Oh yeah, below the jump is a really cool thing. Check it out.
This is my Blog DNA, as created here.

I had to do battle with the coffee grinder this morning. That pretty much sucked the fun out of my Sunday. Then I got a really sweet photo of two friends of mine who've found each other and had a wonderful weekend together. That put the smile back on my face.
So it's all good.

I was told that you can increase melatonin with exercise. I chose a pill that renders me completely incoherent for 6-8 hours. I'm learning to enjoy incoherency.

I too am dealing with things in my personal life that I cannot put out there for the internet - have been for four months - and it's very hard.
I hope you and I both get through our issues.

Well, I've already shared my more private stuff with you in an e-mail, Alison--and it really helped. Thank you for listening. I think the sun is a powerful mood enhancer. We've had a couple of days of it, and I feel much more energized. I forgot to steam my milk this morning; I turned on the espresso machine and then went off to do something else. Microwaved milk is NOT the same.

I say you and Allan head down here for a big dose of sunshine.
And if he doesn't want to, you come for a visit anyway!

Fascinating dna. I tried it but my dna looked blah. Yours is much cuter. I think that I might have dna envy!

I was just thinking about that DNA thing the other day. Thanks. I'm going to play with it now.

How did you upload this to the flickr? I did mine, looks a lot like yours actually.
I have a hard time remembering important shit lately. Since I became a mother, i have lost brain cells. I think part of a mothers brain is donated to the kid at birth.
i love moleskin. got my fist one in London on my trip there.

Of course EVERYBODY is going to want to do this now! I'm glad I clicked on continue reading...

...but must admit I'm a little disappointed in the result. All my DNAs look pretty similar because the colors represent basic blog elements -- images, links, text, etc -- and it looked kind of like yours, too.
Could this be telling us bloggers something?

Oooh. Blog DNA is pretty!
Hang in there. Hope the weather is improving.

I'm sure most Blogs' DNA will look similar, especially if they're based on standard templates. Also, if you run your URL through again, you'll get a different looking "strand"--perhaps a view from a different angle?
I wonder if there's a similar script-thing out there that would graph the link-network of a given site, in a Six-Degrees kind of way...
