It has been raining for three days. The stress I have alluded to is compounded by the weather. I didn't sign up for this!
Writing it down, exploring it, will take a while, especially if I keep feeling like this. Today was one of those days where you just want to stay in bed. I didn't, but I didn't do everything I'd planned to, either.
This afternoon I said to Allan, "Let's go to Walgreen's or something and get some nice fluorescent light on our faces." We browsed the aisles, just enjoying the bright lights, when I saw some Elmer's Shimmering Shapes Glaze. I checked it out, returned it to the shelf, and walked away. Five seconds later I decided to buy the stuff. I have that ongoing scrapbook project for my kids (and I really need to start it) and this stuff will be a cool thing to use.
I felt great when we left the store. I do believe the artificial lights at Walgreen's made a difference in my attitude.

It often rains here too, and I have found that getting out in it and going places is very important. I spend a lot of time at places like Walgreens!

Walgreens always makes me feel better too. You should see what I bought today.

I have a magic ball. It is pink with swirls of white and silver. Not sure where I got it. But sometimes I just pick it up and squeeze and poke it (gently) and watch the swirls and patterns. And wish that I still believed in magic.

Sounds like you need an Ott light next to your work area. . .

I was thinking I need a vacation. Now, I'm just driving over to Walgreens!

i bought a sunrise alarm clock in november to try to counter the lack of sunlight in the winter. it actually works really well. not as well as fluorescents in walgreens of course, but still, its nice. :)

Here's an idea or two. Either build a set of fluorescent tubes into a light system to bask in, maybe for two, or build a Walgreen's for the house, whichever you prefer.
If you build a light system, you could put it over an area where you might lounge, add a couple of sun lamps, and get some sun bathing in while you're at it.
And a place to hold the wine glasses....I wonder what Mist bought at Walgreen's?

Seasonal Affective Disorder is more and more common, especially compounded with this wacky Winter. Hie thee to thine nearest scrapbook store and buy the biggest "daylight lamp" they have. Use it for everything you read, work on, or otherwisely are around, even when watching TV.

You need the sunrise alarm clock - the "sun" (i.e. all-spectrum light) rises slowly every morning right next to my bed. Good for the mood and for getting your a$$ out of bed during the cold, dark winter mornings.

I was just going to make a brilliant suggestion about the gradual lights and alarms that I have seen at "Nature et Découvertes," a store I'm sure you remember -- but I see these objects are also very present in the US of A...
Glad to see you're posting, anyway!

Oh, that glue looks so fun! Good luck with your scrapbooking project! The only good thing about rainy days is that they motivate me to stay in and work on art projects.
