Je ne sais pas. Nous vivrons si nous ne sommes pas morts. Mais comment, c'est un mystere.

Hmmmm, that's not that far away. We'll probably have jet packs and vacation on other planets. We'll be just like the Jetsons.
Maybe I'll have a job by then. Nah, that's just crazy talk.

How will we live in 2010?
By faith. Just as we do today. By faith in God or humanity or the future. In the economy or the government or science. By faith in whatever it is that keeps us from curling up into a ball, frightened out of our minds, not able to move. We live by faith.
If we live well then we live by faith in love and friendship, in compassion and forgiveness, in patience and hope. Most particularly our faith in hope.

to just follow the line from 2000 to 2006 - some big earthquakes, tsunami, 9/11, Afghanistan war, Iraq war, Lebanon war, Kongo civil war, Sudan crisis - will this line continue until 2010 - of course it will? - Clash of civilisitions between western life style & a shia ruled Islamic world - the clash between the rich & the poor, between those inside & those outside. - Will the crack between widen or close? - I think it will expand in slow steps & most of us won't even notice it too much if we're lucky enough to live in those niches & protected parts of our world were desaster won't harm nor struck - I remember the time in 1984 when I heard someone lose his belief that something like George Orwells vision of Big Brother future will ever happen, since it happened in 1984 - future is a surprise box - who dares to open it before it happens?

correction: "since it happened in 1984" should be "since it didn't happened in 1984"..

A greener lifestyle I hope.
I have no idea where to start on wars, terrorism etc but I would recommend going to see Children of Men (not out in US yet I think) for a perspective on immigrants in the UK in 2027. Frightening.

Tough question - and probably an even tougher answer.
Cas
And just think - Mr. Jones will be 4 years old!

2010 is not that far off, but I can't think that far ahead right now. I don't suppose much will be different nor will anything be the same.

we'll probably live as we are today. only 4 yrs off....

I want to answer that it'll be like the Jetson's. With a robot maid named Rosie and a dog like Astro. But I doubt it.
Still, I can dream.

Temporarily. As always.

Thought provoking (and that picture makes me want to paint some furniture tonight!). Only a little more than 3 years away. Gosh. I agree with Katherine - I hope we are living a greener life. I hope there is more peace, some peace, any peace. I hope there is a person with intergrity in the White House. That'd be different... Hopefully by asking questions like this you are making us all more aware and perhaps that will lead to us all working harder to make our vision come true.

..a thought provoking question...I hope there is peace, that we have plenty of water to drink, that our food supply hasn't been targeted by terrorists, and that North Korea has stopped its nuclear testing before blowing us all up... among other things...

Funny you should pose the question. I'll blog about this later but Seb and I have been asking ourselves almost DAILY about what 3 years from now will be like for us. How much really changes in 3 years? Sometimes not a lot and sometimes everything!

The same as now, but with oxygen masks.

We will treat each other worse, we will see each other less, we will lose more respect for each other, have more electronic communication, less vocal communication, more isolation from each other, less understanding of each other, more suspicion. It doesn't have to be this way. Go outside, talk to more people, shake someone's hand, that kind of thing.

Cool picture. In 2010, we'll have a new president. Who knows what that will bring? People will still be trying to get back in their skinny jeans.
