I have four ear piercings, and they are not evenly distributed. Thursday night, one of them felt sore and itchy, so after dinner as Allan and I drank our wine and talked, I removed all of my earrings. The newest of the holes has been there for more than 18 years, so I doubt it will close up on me.
I took this photo not long after I wrote the last entry about my energy, creative and otherwise, being sapped. It made me happy to press the shutter button on my camera. Oh, and the large version of this looks pretty cool.

I'm glad that after a stressful day yesterday, you still can do something so beautiful.

Do you have any cartilage piercing? I don't, but I am considering getting one for my birthday, maybe.

Elisabeth: No, I don't really have any cartilage piercings. You can see them in this photo that Allan took.
The highest piercing on that ear is the one I did when I was 14 and angry. It was fairly close to the cartilage. I couldn't sleep on that side for a week. A friend did the middle one for me during our freshman year of college. And I got the basic earlobe piercing when I was 8.
There's room in there for a fourth hole. I'm considering it, but this time I would have the piercing done by a professional. I guess that's one of the side effects of reaching middle age. LOL. Maybe I should get another tattoo while I'm at it.

Cool surface, makes me think of a 1950's formica tabletop . . .

I'm still on holes one and two, and no tattoos. . .can't even have my hair the same way for more than six months, so it's ear cuffs and henna for me when the desire for extra ornamentation strikes.
I like the photo, too. It's an interesting juxtaposition - here's four earrings, this person is a bit daring. . .but the earrings look so much alike, maybe the sameness is kind of an anchor? Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Heh.

I have three holes on one side and tow on the other. Often enough, people tell me I must have lost an earring. Then they ask me "why?" when I tell them I have an uneven distribution.
Just the way I am, I guess. I like it that way.

I did my first ear piercing myself...almost 20 years ago. I haven't worn an earring in a while and it refuses to close. I'm okay with that.

After years of being pierced I suddenly got sensitive to my jewelry. Everything had to go.

Great pic---and I think we went together to get that piercing, didn't we? ;)

Just catching up on your blog & saw this--it suddenly reminded me of your puzzle ring that you used to wear--do you still have it? Anyhoo, it brought back happy memories of long ago for me.
