That's what my sister said when I told her we were leaving for Pennsylvania at midnight.
Maybe we are crazy. Maybe I just don't feel like hearing my kids complain about being bored and asking "when are we there?" in their French-influenced syntax. Maybe I think Ohio will be better in the dark. Less wide. Less flat. Less boring. Less likely to spark the desire to commit a crime.
Yeah, so. We're off to Yinzerville Pittsburgh tonight. Allan has more.

yer right about Ohio.
(hope Lexi doesn't see this!) ;)

Giving up so easily? Why not read "Crime and Punishment" to the kids and explain it, in Russian. You could all learn it on the way. You'll never notice Ohio. If Russian is too hard, try Chinese. I'm sure Allan can help.

Uh-oh, are we in for some more Ohio-bating soon?

an apt description of my state. and people wonder why i'm so good at daydreaming? 'tis a survival technique when travelling across the wastelands of Ohio.

i think its a perfect idea. you and allan can listen to good music up front, kids sleep in the back. this is how we always traveled when i was a kid. late night/early morning. seemed like we got there faster...

I haven't left at midnight but I have left considerably past their bedtimes to go out to the lake house. I would rather they sleep through the drive than ask me how many minutes till we're there, or have to listen to radio disney for that long of a time. So Yeah, I am crazy!

I drove my kids from north central Minnesota to south central Nebraska last week, and they thought they were going die. And I know that is a senic route compared to Ohio, which I have driven through, too.

O on the ends and HI in the middle O-HI-O!
Fine if you don't know the song, then know that there is no HI in the middle of the state of Ohio! Girl I've been driving across the entire state to get to IL from WV for the last 30 some years. Whilst the bordom is unbearable, at least the state produced some good candy: Buck-eyes!
