Is this really blogworthy, Alison?
Yes, it is. Bear with me.
My phone doesn't ring very often.
So this morning, I said "Hello?......Hello?"
No wait, I'm in France, so I said "Allô?......Allô?"
Then I heard music that I recognized as that of my cell phone service. And a lovely voice told me that a text message had been sent to my landline.
First, wtf? A text message sent to my landline? Second, this is about the third time this has happened to me, and it's always the same person trying to get a message to her daughter. Apparently my name sits just above or below the daughter's in this woman's cell phone. She clicks on my name, and my landline gets the texto (that's the French word for text message).
Okay, so guess what happened then? Another woman's voice, computer-animated this time, read me the texto.
Il y a du steak haché au frigo.
So now you know, too, internets: There's some ground beef in the fridge.

LOL!
But what I want to know is why your number is in this woman's cellphone.

Oh. I forgot that part. I know her. She used to take care of my kids on the mornings I had to leave for work at early o'clock.

I figured it out and can only count up to four in French! I am so proud of myself!

Non, merci, je n'aime pas le steak (steack?) hache.

There's ground beef in the fridge.
And it's out to get you.
And that phone call came from inside your house!

That is hillarious... and I feel SO MUCH BETTER knowing that there is ground beef in someone's fridge in france.
I only have chicken....

I could use some steak hache (and other comestibles as well). I ate parmesan noodles with peas for breakfast. That's how bad it is. Anyway, hi. Thought I wouldn't lurk this time.

Message from the mob perhaps? You'd better watch your back or you'll be steack haché too! :p
