I am exhausted. I spent part of the evening a couple of hours posting (sporadically, I'll admit) to a forum dedicated to the unrest in France.
This was a mistake. One, I don't usually comment on current events. I stay away from current events. Two, I'm so out of the loop that I was unable to find neutral news sources. What I thought was neutral apparently isn't. Three, I most certainly raised my blood pressure in trying to argue points via the internet. Give me a face-to-face debate any day. That is, if I'm trying to raise my blood pressure, which I'm not.
So that's it, folks. From here on out this blog will go back to the daily French grind/my so-called life. Stuff that meanders through my brain, quoi.

Ali, you do what makes you feel good. We all have computers and TV's.... we can figure out what's going on. Besides I'd rather see one of your beautiful pictures any day compared to visions of violence and stupidity. Carry on!

I read a few posts back and completely agree with you AND understand. I've been avoiding the detailed news reports but have seen pictures of fire and explosions as I walked by the tv (Mom watches all of it). I was wondering how you're doing so thanks for posting that your area is safe and sound.
The experience you had while posting in forums on this rioting issue always happens whenever anything USA/Canada is being discussed too. So I can well imagine what you endured. Best to keep your sanity and stay out of it. If you have some thoughts on it you want to express, do it here, where those of us who like you will appreciate reading your insights :)

Problem solved....
All you need is a trip to IKEA with Allan and a large truck once you get back to the good ol' USA.
Simple huh?

You can feel how you feel without having other people argue with you and criticize your political opinions. That's why I can't bear to put many of mine on the blog. For example, I am vehemently anti-death penalty, but my husband is pro. We can't even discuss it civilly; to be honest, it's mostly my fault we can't. So, it's best to stay away from that topic with people I don't sleep with.

Yes, don't think about politics, think about IKEA! They (it?) made the cover of Business Week this week. Says they are some kind of cult...
