All over the internets I am reading about people loosing their minds or loosing sleep or just plain loosing it.
PEOPLE! Did you sleep through ALL TWELVE years of your mandatory schooling? (Shut up, I know you can leave school at 16. I'm making a point here).
Okay, so lose/ losing/ loser all sound like LOO. But no one ever said English was a logical language, so listen up:
Lose is the shape of that L on your forehead.
Loose is the way you wear your damn jeans.

LOL!
Give them hell, Teach.

You go girl. Next do break and brake and then close and clothes. So many more to chose. Thank you.

To be honest, I got nervous and thought that maybe I was the culprit. Because I did lose a lot of sleep last night and I wasn't all here when I typed my entry this morning. Alas, I was okay. So, uh, thanks for the scare!

At YMCA Nationals, they gave out official buttons about not being a looser. I just about had a heart attack.

If you wear your jeans too loose, you'll lose them.

so it's better to be loose, than to be a loser (I got it) - das ist lustig (that's funny) - speak 'lustig' like 'loostig' -
but I must confess - I always have to concider what's the right form if I use lose or loose, but meanwhile I know it, & worse if I use lie or lie (especially in the past, if I lied on my bed lieing (or lying?) to you?? ) or is there also a lye? - there should be different words for lie in english - see "lay Lady lay"..
- anyway I have the excuse that english is a foreign language to me - he he!

Right on... I don't see it often, but it bugs me when people confuse imply and infer.
Nice work with the online mags, BTW. You are really missing your calling, you have a style that doesn't intimidate or bore, without being shall we say... crass, base, or dumb in general.

I am SO with you!!! I have stopped reading journals for that very reason. I know, I never said that I was tolerant. Plus, I make some of the most horrendous grammatical errors ever. Still. I shall unloose my inner grammarian on those Losers! Doooorrggghhh!

Yeah, it crawls up my spine, too, especially when the writer has two or three college degrees and consistently does it. Breath and breathe does that to me as well.
So why do I say (not write) french bed pizza?

Gotta fix something before you call me on it. Breath instead of breathe does that to me as well. :D

LOLOL
I will send everyone on the internet to this post! ;)

Of all the errors on 't internet, this one gets me going too... but I realised a while back that when we bang out a post or (especially) a comment at speed, it is so very easy to mistype a word, even when you know the correct usage.
For example, the other day I found myself thinking
"when you're in the middle of..."
but I actually typed
"when your in the middle of".
I spotted it that time but who knows how many other times I've typoed something similar? So now I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and presume that they know better but got carried away in the heat of the bloggy moment.
