I'm not kidding. Love. It. My favorite use for mayo is fry-dippin'! (I know half of you are out there saying "Fries dipped in mayonnaise? Ewwwwww!")
Why the post about mayonnaise? Well, I thought about my X as I was making lunch for myself. I was scooping avocado into my salad, and I remembered how the X always ate his avocados.
He would fill the hollows in each half of his avocado with mayonnaise. Dollop, dollop. And I would shudder when I saw him eat it. (Here's where I say "Ewwww!")
I love mayo, I love avocados, but the two together? Nope. Not gonna do it.
It's a mouthfeel thing.

I like my mayo with artichokes. Yum....

Most of my young life, I didn't like mayonnaise. I only developed a taste for it as an adult.
But I would still avoid it for fear of the cholesterol and saturated fat content.
And the idea of dipping fries in it seemed so weird (I'm a ketchup kind of guy).
But when I visited you in France and finally tried it on fries, I must say I was hooked.
I also like dipping fries in the leftover sauce from a serving of mussels.

Typical summer Saturday night salad growing up was simple: sliced tomatoes fresh out of the garden, and mayo.
I've never much cared for raw tomatoes, but ooooh, the mayo!
On fries? Veddy good. Also on a spoon, occasionally.

On Ritz Crackers, too.
But then, everything tastes better when it's sittin' on a Ritz!

Sort of mayo related. Fries are wonderful dipped in tartar sauce.

When we were kids... mayonnaise sammitches on fresh white bread for snacks. Yum. (I think maybe that means we were poor.)
Oh, and that imposter "Miracle Whip" crap isn't' even allowed in my fridge!

I only like mayo for onion rings and a bit on my cheeseburger. But I can understand why you can like mayo with fries.

i used to work with a gentleman, i use the term loosely, from spain, who grew up in denmark, ate his fries that way all the time. I tried it. and liked it. but not every time.

Man, if you just deep fat fried that sucker, you'd have enough calories for the whole week.

Artichokes and mayo are both greasy--maybe that's why you don't like them together. I am a big fan of artichokes, but not as crazy about mayo. I love mustard, horseradish, wasabi, etc..

It no longer takes a trip to Mexico to satisfy my craving. Mexican restaurants in the city are serving corn on the cob, often with mayonnaise.
