Movie Meme

Rand posted TIME's list of the top 100 movies on his blog, and he bolded the ones he's seen.  Perhaps this has been making the rounds, perhaps he just made up a meme.  Anyway, I'm stealing the idea. 

I didn't bold mine, but rather turned them blue, because for some reason Typepad's WYSIWYG thingamajig didn't want to bold my selections, and I was too lazy to go in and add tags in HTML.

yep... Casablanca should definitely be on the "must see immediately" list.

...along with my personal favorites from the list:
Aguirre (Herzog / Kinski at their peak), Ikiru, Yojimbo (two of Kurosawa's finest - Ikiru is one of my top 5 of all time, period), City of God, Taxi Driver.

just of the top of my head, here's a few that i'm amazed did not make the list: Breathless (though they did include Godard's lesser "Bande à part"), Antonioni's "L'Avventura", "Rashomon", "Cabinet of Dr Caligari", "Nosferatu", "M"... i could go on.

i usually find Ebert's Great Movies list a great resource, personally.
