That's what the garbage man sanitation engineer said to me as I walked back toward the entrance to Montparnasse train station.
"Don't cry, Madame. Life's too short to spend time crying."
I smiled through the tears, and it felt like they pooled in my dimples.
I kept walking, and he kept saying "Don't cry."
So I turned around and said "My love is going away," and pointed to the airport shuttle up the street.
"Ah. Well, will you see him again?"
"Yes, I will." (I just don't know when, I was thinking).
"There you go, Madame! You'll see him again! Nothing to cry about." He grinned a gap-toothed smile at me.
I smiled again and started wiping the tears from my red eyes.
Nothing to cry about, really. Lots to rejoice about. But there's still an empty feeling now that Allan is on his way back to the States.
We had a great time in Paris. I would post a picture, but we only used his camera, and between us we took more than 300 photos in 2 days. There'll have to be some sifting done before any of them get posted here or at Allan's blog.

You'll see him here, RP, when you chat, in the things he's given you that are in your apartment, in the music you listen to... he's everywhere with you, my friend. He's in your heart.

Beautiful Post... I have watched you{and Allan}, in a corner over there and sighed. I understand where you are...as I have been there. There IS something very special about those Courtney's. Your words just glowed... seems you may have too. So glad you had FUN{those times will continue!...I have a feeling}.

Here, 'ave a hug, Alison. There's that reality thing again.
Have a drink, have another hug.
Be happy that you are loved and have someone to love - it's only the end of a chapter.
Turn the page, turn the page!!
