I can't possibly describe myself in one sentence, but you do need to know that I prefer a manual transmission.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm Alison, and this is my weblog. Why "AliThinks"? Well, mostly because I blog about things I think about or observe. The tagline for this site used to be "Stuff that meanders through my brain."
That pretty much sums it up.
There is a 100 Things list over there on the left. I wrote that a couple of years ago, so it's not completely accurate anymore. Plus it's not scrolly anymore, for some reason. (Note to self: Update and fix 100 Things list).
What else? I moved back to the States in March of 2006 after living most of my adult life in France. I used to teach English. I also used to be married, and I have two amazing children. They live with their father right now, and I tend not to blog about them very much.
I'm a pretty shy person but I hide it well. I harbor a fantasy about being on TV, which I sometimes stroke by creating videoblogs with my webcam. Also, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I'm an INFP -- but was borderline E (it must be that desire to be on TV) -- and that verdict came from an actual Myers-Briggs test.
I cook a mean couscous and my ability to speak French will knock your socks off. My penchant for proper grammar, English or French, will probably piss you off, however.
There's more, of course, but I need to go stir that couscous. It smells divine.
In August of 2006, I asked my readers to ask me questions that I could use here on my About Page.
Photography, computers, internet, blogging, music, writing, cooking, reading, my children. Not necessarily in that order.
